A lottery SCAM has cost the people on the Western slopes of the Rocky Mountains over $500,000. How do people fall for this? The lure of quick riches will test the will many.  How can you protect yourself from these scams? FIRST be suspicious of everything and anything that says you will be getting some money for FREE. FIRST again, you cannot win a contest or a lottery that you did not participate in. Second WAKE UP! It is not true there are so many ways to get scammed out there and they all play on "Your get rich quick" emotions.

Got a letter in the mail, with a check for 3900 dollars, and the prize amount is 60000? They want me to deposit this check into my account, then call to recieve the rest. But I dont recall ever entering a contest for walmart, target etc..
